Summary

The Motorsports Specialist supports Yokohama’s motorsports and Ultra High‑Performance (UHP) tire initiatives across professional and amateur racing disciplines. This role represents the brand at motorsports events and promotional activities while coordinating program logistics, building industry relationships, and supporting content creation efforts. The ideal candidate is a passionate motorsports enthusiast with strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, track-side environment.

Responsibilities

Motorsports Program Support

  • Support Yokohama’s non-DOT motorsports and UHP tire initiatives across multiple racing disciplines and competition levels.
  • Serve as an onsite brand representative at motorsports events.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with teams, drivers, series officials, and sanctioning body representatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams or onsite service providers to collect vehicle data, tire performance feedback, and other technical insights.
  • Integrate Yokohama sales personnel and customers into performance-focused events through ticketing, paddock access, and VIP experiences.
  • Act as the point of contact for content collection at events, capturing photos, videos, and storylines before, during, and after each event.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media team to curate tire performance-focused and motorsports-related content.
  • Assist in coordinating tire distribution, tracking usage, and ensuring accurate documentation for internal reporting.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging teams, partners, and event stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret motorsports data and event insights.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including consecutive weekends during peak racing seasons.
  • Knowledge of the automotive, motorsports, and tire markets, with an understanding of enthusiast culture.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in motorsports, automotive performance, event management, or sales/marketing within a related industry.

Physical Requirements

  • Assist with event set-up and take-down
  • Employees must possess the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull and move materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working outside, remote locations, endure potential extreme weather conditions ranging from below freezing to over 100 degrees.
  • Must be able to remain standing or moving on feet for prolong periods of time
  • Must be capable to travel by airplane and automobile
