Summary

The Corporate Quality Engineer responsible for driving quality initiatives across the different Yokohama manufacturing plant in North American region and corporate operations to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality systems. This role serves as a key interface between plant-level quality teams and corporate quality leadership, supporting continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic quality objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical quality support to plant operations, including process validation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to optimize processes for quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in the horizontal development of Yokohama Standards (YS) and deployment of YRC quality policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with tire development and product engineering teams to address market-driven quality concerns.
  • Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Drive harmonization of quality systems across multiple sites.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF16949, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong technical, analytic and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of tire manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and risk management tools.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time while working on a computer.
  • Repeating motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Employees must possess the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull and move materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally remain standing or walking on feet for prolong periods
  • Occasionally work indoors in a warehouse or manufacturing plant environment where temperature regulation may be inconsistent, and where there is exposure to noise, and machinery.
  • Occasional travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required
