The Gantry Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, inspection,
and maintenance of automated gantry systems used for handling green tires. This role ensures maximum
equipment uptime, supports production schedules, and adheres to plant safety, quality, and housekeeping
standards.
· Operate and oversee automated gantry systems used for tire transport, storage, and staging.
· Continuously monitor gantry performance, identifying abnormal conditions or faults.
· Perform system resets and minor adjustments to maintain smooth operation.
· Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on gantry systems, conveyors, and
hoist mechanisms.
· Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical issues in coordination with
maintenance teams.
· Document and report equipment malfunctions, repairs, and downtime.
· Adhere to all plant safety standards, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and safe lifting/handling
practices.
· Ensure gantry operation complies with company, OSHA, and industry regulations.
· Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure equipment safety guards are in place.
· Work closely with tire building and curing to align gantry operation with production flow.
· Communicate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and supervisory staff to schedule repairs and
upgrades.
· Provide feedback for process improvements to increase gantry uptime and efficiency.
· Working knowledge of all aspects of gantry system
· Troubleshooting Equipment
· Ability to evaluate and complete quality checks and document results using data base collection system.
· Ability to make repairs on various pieces of equipment.
· Ability to make accurate measurements for effective production
