Responsibilities

As the Controls Technician, you will support both the Maintenance and Engineering Departments through troubleshooting and various stages of projects while maintaining the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity of industrial equipment. In doing so, you will be responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting equipment using electrical drawings, test equipment, and PLC software
  • Restoring equipment operation safely and efficiently using LOTO and required PPE
  • Providing timely and accurate equipment status communication to involved departments
  • Supporting the Engineering Department through various phases of electrical controls projects such as design, installation, and machinery start-up
  • Investigating machinery wiring, components, and drawings
  • Performing thermographic surveys of equipment and prepare summary reports
  • Providing documentation to the Engineering Department including project files, as-built drawings, and PM

Knowledge and Skills

  • A passion for electrical controls and the desire to be a resource to others in this area
  • Strong time management skills with the capability to recognize and place priority to multiple projects
  • You are solution-focused and enjoy troubleshooting to solve complex electrical problems
  • Flexibility to work unconventional hours (M-F, 3pm – 11pm)
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, control circuits, programmable controllers, variable speed drives (AC & DC), National Electric Code, and PLC software
  • It’s a plus if you have familiarity with DVM, oscilloscope, ladder logic, and electrical schematics

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Controls discipline (or equivalent experience) with 3 - 5 years related electrical control experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Journeyman Electrician or equivalent certification
