The DC Lead Operator assists the shift supervisor in directing and training warehouse associates and assume supervisory responsibilities in the supervisor’s absence. To perform warehouse functions such as LP audit, picking, put a way, stocking, loading, unloading, and other duties as necessary. The DC Lead Operator instructs and observes the work in process on the floor to ensure associates as being productive and performing work assignments safely.
• Perform LP audits to ensure orders are accurate, and monitors work force productivity • Helps supervisor with the training and development of the work force • Picks orders, puts away stock, and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor • Oversee safety on the floor and be aware of employee lift safety and handling of pallets.
• Effective communication (written and verbal) skills • Basic Leadership skills • Basic math skills • Must be able to interact with other employees in a professional manner • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail • Strong team player • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job • Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office • Experienced forklift operator – sit down LP forklift lift experience is a plus
• Minimum of 3 year in a DC environment and a solid understanding of shipping, and receiving processes • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required • Experience with RF devices and general understanding of a WMS (SAP) preferred
• Standing 6-8 hours a day • Operate forklift 1-2 hours a day • Lift 20-49 lbs • Computer use 4-6 hours a day
